So, was dealing with Intuit support today on their quicktaxweb.  Tried their online support professional and was trying to find out how to do something very small today on their online tax system.

Their professional sadly was lacking in basic English language skills, and I gave up with this person Amit Sr.

I called in, and spoke to someone named Rajul, about it.  After about thirty minutes I think I finally explained to him that a spouse cannot be a dependent. To add to the difficulty, there is no way for him to see what I am looking at on the website.   Seems like another 15 minutes later, he actually began to understand my problem.  I ask to be escalated, and he doesn't escalate it, and keeps insisting that he has to try a few more things.  I ask again, and he goes on hold, and comes back a few minutes later with some new things.  Then he tells me that he has confirmed it is indeed a bug, and to try again tomorrow that it should be fixed.  Talk about the brush off.

I press him some more on getting escalated and then he tells me that he has done it, and that to give him a few minutes for him to program the fixes.   Last time I checked CSR don't really have programming access.

Kept up with my demands, and then he responds with in order for them to fix the problem I will have to provide my username and password.  Now, I can understand giving my ID so that an escalating engineer could follow up, but my password.  No.  Never.   I explain politely, that I cannot provide to him my password.   He responds matter of factly that if I do not provide my ID and password they will be unable to support me.   I ask to speak to his supervisor, and what seems like he put his headset on mute.  After a good ten minutes of waiting on the phone, I found something myself that helped solve my problem.  Since it seemed that Rahul didn't want to help me or get his supervisor I hung up, and figured I would track it down via corporate as I was paying long distance on my cell phone for all this.

Scary.
